Program and Project Management

At the outset of any project, we work with the client to define a binding set of deliverables. We follow this with a full discovery of the environment, presented as a current state assessment. This combined information is used to create high level technical designs.

This approach enables SystemsUp to take on the risk and propose a fixed price piece of work. Deliverables are underwritten with part payment only receivable on completion of pre agreed milestones.

By undertaking the initial phases outlined above, assumptions are minimised, reducing risk and guaranteeing successful project delivery. Experience has taught us that this method avoids the pitfalls of the more common assumption based proposal. These pitfalls typically result in disrupted project schedules and escalating costs, and in the worst cases, project failure.

Our project methodology can be summarised in the following stages;
  • Define  
    This stage is essential in order to ensure that the project has a valid business case and to specifically capture the issues that need addressing. We capture the business requirements, define the deliverable and manage expectations. This stage can be considered as a consultation where options for the solution are discussed and ensures that our clients understand all the possible alternatives available.


  • Discover  
    This stage ensures that any solution is compatible with the existing environment and is designed as much as possible to strengthen the organisations existing processes. We gather information and data on relevant aspects of the clients’ environment based on the requirements gathered in the first stage.


  • High Level Design  
    Design is the centrepiece of any solution. We invest substantial effort in tailoring designs based on industry best practices, the clients’ specific requirements and their environment. Our planning considers all business requirements and constraints.


  • Proof of Concept  
    This stage allows an accurate proof of the solution mirroring the client’s environment. Final adjustments can also be made to the design and final solution.


  • Implement  
    We coordinate the implementation with the client to ensure minimal business disruption and to maximise knowledge transfer to the onsite staff for post installation support and maintenance.


  • Handover  
    Experience has taught us that this stage is critical to any project. We ensure that lessons from the project are captured as well as creating a forum to discuss future projects and strategies. This reinforces our partnership approach as well as ensuring there are no loose ends to the project.
